Brief History
The Cayman Islands National Dance Company ("CINDC") is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1988 by Lorna Reid, the Artistic Director Emerita. Ms Reid formed the Company with eleven enthusiastic dancers whose primary interests and passion was to dance.
The CINDC has performed internationally in the Multicultural Festival in Holland, Carifesta V-VIII and locally for Cayfest, beauty pageants such as Ms Cayman, Ms Teen, Pirates' Week and Charitable and Non-Charitable Organizations. The Company is known as "the islands' ambassadors of dance!"
The CINDC has always played an integral part in the continuous development, awareness and appreciation of dance as an art form throughout the Cayman Islands. Over the years, CINDC has provided and continues to provide instructors who produce award-winning dance items in the National Children's Festival of the Arts (NCFA) while working in local schools.
